Styrene olefin copolymers (S-OCP) provide another option when a lubricant requires more shear stability than conventional OCP technology can provide. Also described as styrenic viscosity modifiers, styrene-isoprene, or hydrogenated styrene-isoprene polymers, these materials combine efficient viscosity index improvement with enhanced permanent shear stability.
FUNCTIONAL V-4300 and V-710 Series styrenic viscosity modifiers are available across a range of thickening efficiencies and permanent shear stability (P-SSI). Grades are offered in paraffinic, naphthenic, and synthetic carrier oils to support a variety of lubricant formulations.
