Ethylene-propylene oligomers (EPOs) occupy a unique space between conventional polymeric viscosity modifiers and synthetic base stocks. Their lower molecular weight provides useful viscosity and viscosity index contribution with excellent resistance to permanent shear, making EPO chemistry attractive when long-term viscosity retention is an important part of the finished lubricant.
FUNCTIONAL V-730 Series EPOs are available in core viscosity grades of approximately 600, 1100, and 2000 cSt, with custom grades available for specialized applications. Selected grades have received NSF HX-1 incidental food contact status and Ecolabel LuSC listing.
