Functional V-4051 is low treat liquid additive for improving water spray-off and mechanical stability of greases. This product is differentiated by its unique formulation which replaces all petroleum oils with bio-based diluent. V-4051 provides exceptional water spray-off improvement at treat rates as low as 1wt% in soap-based and calcium sulfonate greases while contributing no petroleum residue. This product is ideal for enhancing bio-based or environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL) greases but V-4051 will also work in petroleum greases.
Functional V-158FN is a 45 SSI OCP viscosity modifier formulated in a low viscosity naphthenic oil. This product uses a synergy of low temperature polymer and oil to provide excellent pour points and flow at low temperature even at ISO grades up to 10,000. V-158FN is ideal for wireline greases, oil/gas exploration, and mining where economic but high performance solutions are demanded.
Functional V-175 is a polyisobutylene (PIB) tackifier which uses an ultra high molecular weight grade of polymer to impart very high levels of tackiness in lubricants and greases with minimal treat. Stringiness and other viscoelastic effects (wetting, anti-mist, tack) are greatly improved with higher molecular weights. This product is ideal for textile lubricants, chain oils, and high speed single pass applications.
Functional V-166 is an olefin copolymer dissolved in light paraffinic oil using to boost the viscosity and viscosity index (VI) of oils. This product has a shear stability of 35 SSI by ASTM D6278 (Kurt Orbahn shear) and is ideal for formulating motor oils and industrial lubricants.
Functional Products’s new biodegradable two-cycle engine oil is intended for air-cooled two-cycle engines. This oil is inherently biodegradable and compatible with gasolines containing up to 10% ethanol. The oil outperformed a JASO FD-rated synthetic blend on Piston Merit Rating.
Functional V-385 is a shear stable OCP-based tackifier in Group III oil for shear-sensitive high temperature lubricants. This product will contribute modest levels of tack and viscosity. The polymer is PSSI 50 and contributes to anti-misting.
Functional CI-427 is a light-colored anti-wear and corrosion inhibitor for food-grade use. This additive will produce less color in finished products and allows for brighter and clearer food-grade lubricants. It is NSF-approved HX-1 and HX-2 under Registry #154971.
Functional V-380 has been developed as a high temperature tackifier using a new technology developed for polyisobutylene products. Functional V-380 has greatly reduced tack loss during prolonged high-temperature (150-200˚C) operation and is formulated in a thermally stable mineral oil. Functional V-380 is compatible with Group II and OCP-based additives.
A new highly concentrated liquid grease additive, FUNCTIONAL V-4033, has been developed to improve water spray-off in greases. The liquid additive contains a grafted polymer that will react with the soap to improve adhesion to metal surfaces. The concentrated liquid reduces treat rates compared to other liquid additives and increases the consistency of the blending results when compared to solid additives.
The product can be blended into the grease at the beginning of the reaction or added with the cooling oil. The liquid additive flows at room temperature and can be heated to facilitate handling.
